Join us for one last community volunteer day this year on Saturday, November 18th, from 10am-noon.
We have two projects in mind for that day, depending on how many volunteers we get. The first is planting several hundred bulbs (thank you May in Montclair!) at various spots throughout the park.
The second project is to continue clearing out brush and weeds from around the old pond side and then to extend our weed control efforts in that area, with an eye for planting in the Spring.
Participate in all or part of the event. Sign up for this event by emailing us at volunteer@brookdalepark.org. We look forward to seeing you!

On this October weekend, Rose Squared Art Shows will transform Brookdale Park into an outdoor art gallery. Every spring and fall, artists from around the nation apply to showcase their unique art and fine crafts in Rose Squared Art Shows, which feature ceramics, painting, glass, photography, jewelry, clothing, sculpture, wood and mixed media. Participating artists undergo a rigorous juried selection process and additional vetting to ensure that all curated artwork is original.
Visitors will take home treasures for themselves and one-of-a-kind gifts at every price point. Patrons will also delight in sampling food from specialty vendors and watching artist demonstrations that are glimpses into the magic behind the scenes.
For more information, directions and a slideshow of participating exhibitors' work, please visit RoseSquared.com. Presented by the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs and Rose Squared Productions, Inc. Admission is always free. These shows are held rain or shine. Open from 10am to 5pm each day.
